Resource Protection Specialist, ZA-0301-3 (DE/CR)

As a Resource Protection Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Serve as the resource protection specialist for the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries (ONMS) and carry out the policies and purposes of the National Marine Sanctuaries Act (NMSA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), to ensure sanctuary activities comply with these regulations, such as resource protection initiatives, providing administrative and management support for a site within the National Marine Sanctuary system. Oversee, develop, and/or implement strategies, activities, policies, regulations, management plans and programs for sanctuaries to conserve, protect, enhance, restore, investigate, and manage sanctuary resources. Oversee acquisitions and financial management system for Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary in accordance with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration policies and appropriations law focusing on resource protection initiatives. Support internal and external partnerships that build capacity for the ONMS with regard to resource protection and climate adaptation programs. Build support and strengthen local, regional, national, and international partnerships that focus on sharing technical information and resource protection strategies due to climate change and other threats to sanctuary resources. Experience:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the ZA-3 or GS-11:
SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZA-2 or GS-09 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Producing technical materials and products, such as reports, briefing materials, regulation development, or program guidelines with an emphasis on coastal science or resource management; Using automated financial management systems and automatic applications for budget tracking and analysis; and Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to implement plans and activities. -OR- SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. -OR- COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND
Experience:
A combination of education and experience as described above. NOTE:
Only graduate education in excess of two years is qualifying for combination.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
